The Lady Reading Hospital – Medical Teaching Institution (LRH-MTI), Peshawar, invites applications for Clinical Faculty Positions (Serial No. 01 to 10) and Academic, Faculty & Research Positions (Serial No. 11 to 14).

Clinical Faculty Positions

1. Anaesthesia – Chairman/Chairperson, Department of Anaesthesia

Qualification & Experience: MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC, along with a higher qualification in the relevant specialty/subspecialty recognized by PM&DC, with at least 7 years of experience in a reputable institution after obtaining the qualification. Evidence of scholarly activity/publications and teaching is required. Eligibility shall be as per prevailing KP-MTI Selection Criteria.

2. Psychiatry – Chairman/Chairperson, Department of Psychiatry

Qualification & Experience: Same as above (MBBS/PM&DC recognized qualification plus higher specialty qualification, 7 years’ experience, scholarly activity, and KP-MTI Selection Criteria).

3. Ophthalmology – Chairman/Chairperson, Department of Ophthalmology

Qualification & Experience: Same as above.

4. Surgical & Allied – Chairman/Chairperson, Department of Ophthalmology

Qualification & Experience: MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC, along with a higher qualification in the relevant subspecialty recognized by PM&DC, with at least 7 years of experience in a reputable institution. Evidence of scholarly activity/publications and teaching is required.

5. Adult Intensive Care – Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor

Qualification & Experience:

• MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• Higher diploma in the relevant specialty such as FCPS, MRCP, FRCS, American Board Certification, or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• Eligibility as per prevailing KP-MTI Selection Criteria.
• Candidates applying for Instructor must have cleared the Fellowship Examination in Intensive Care Medicine or equivalent recognized qualification.

6. Pediatric Intensive Care – Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor

Qualification & Experience: Same structure as Adult Intensive Care above.

7. Thoracic Surgery – Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor

Qualification & Experience:

• MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• Higher diploma in Plastic Surgery such as FCPS, FRCS (Thoracic Surgery), American Board Certification, or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• Eligibility as per prevailing KP-MTI Selection Criteria.
• Instructor applicants must have cleared the Fellowship Examination in Thoracic Surgery or equivalent recognized qualification.

8. Plastic Surgery – Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor

Qualification & Experience:

• MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• Higher diploma in Plastic Surgery such as FCPS, FRCS (Plastic Surgery), American Board Certification, or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• Eligibility as per prevailing KP-MTI Selection Criteria.

9. Anesthesia – Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor

Qualification & Experience:

• MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• Higher diploma such as FCPS, FRCS (Anesthesia), American Board Certification, or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• Instructor applicants must have cleared the Fellowship Examination in Anaesthesia or equivalent recognized qualification.

10. General Medicine – Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor

Qualification & Experience:

• MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• Higher diploma in the relevant specialty such as FCPS, FRCP, American Board Certification, or equivalent qualification.
• Eligibility as per prevailing KP-MTI Selection Criteria.

Academic, Faculty & Research Positions

11. Health Professions Education (HPE) – Demonstrator/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor

Qualification & Experience:

• Demonstrator: MBBS with MHPE qualification recognized by PM&DC. Preference given to candidates with interest/exposure in Health Professions Education (HPE)/Medical Education.
• Assistant Professor: MBBS with M.Phil and (MHPE)/Medical Education or equivalent qualification recognized by HEC/PM&DC, with relevant teaching experience as per PM&DC Faculty Appointment Regulations and KP-MTI Selection Criteria.
• Associate Professor/Professor: MBBS with PhD or equivalent qualification recognized by HEC/PM&DC, with required teaching experience, research publications, and other eligibility criteria as per PM&DC Faculty Appointment Regulations and KP-MTI Selection Criteria.
• Preference given to candidates with scholarly activities, educational leadership, and research experience.

12. Biostatistics – Staff Grade Biostatistician

Qualification & Experience: PhD in Biostatistics or equivalent qualification recognized by HEC, with at least 1 year of relevant experience in a reputable institution/organization, OR M.Phil in Biostatistics or a relevant field recognized by HEC with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

13. Infectious Disease Specialist – Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor

Qualification & Experience:

• MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• Higher diploma in Infectious Diseases such as FCPS (Infectious Disease), FRCP, CCT, American Board Certification, or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• Eligibility as per prevailing KP-MTI Selection Criteria.
• Instructor applicants must have cleared the Fellowship Examination in Infectious Diseases or equivalent recognized qualification.

14. Research – Research Officer

Qualification & Experience:

• MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• MHR or equivalent qualification registered with PM&DC/HEC.
• At least 2 years of post-qualification experience as a Research Officer in a reputable public or private sector institution/hospital, duly registered.
• Scholarly activities including research publications (preferably indexed/impact factor journals), participation in research projects, and grant-related academic work will be considered an added advantage.

General Instructions

1. The service of the incumbent will be governed by the Rules and Regulations of the institution under the Medical Teaching Institution Reform Act, 2015, and amendments therein.
2. Applications must be supported by a covering letter and a detailed Curriculum Vitae, including the names, email addresses, and contact numbers of three referees, and must be submitted to the address below via Registered Courier Service by July 29, 2026. Incomplete applications or applications submitted by hand shall not be entertained.
3. Candidates currently serving as civil servants, or in any other government service or institution, will be required to resign from their previous post if selected at LRH-MTI.
4. Any attempt to approach or influence the selection committee will automatically disqualify the applicant.
5. The decision of the selection committee, as approved by the Board of Governors, will be final.
6. No correspondence regarding the process will be entertained after a final decision.
7. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
8. The Institution reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process at any stage.
