The Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination, Islamabad, offers a challenging opportunity for employment as the Chairperson in the Pakistan Climate Change Authority, a body corporate working under the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination, Islamabad. Applications are invited from citizens of Pakistan possessing the following qualifications and experience:

• Profile: The Chairperson shall be a scientist, academician, professional, serving or retired government servant, industrialist, agriculturist, or other technocrat with at least ten (10) years’ experience in fields related to climate change and the environment, with a distinguished service record. • Qualification: Ph.D / M.Phil or Master’s Degree in Climate Change / Environmental Sciences / Environmental Engineering / Renewable Energy / Natural Resource Management / Economics / Environmental Laws / Finance / Management Sciences or any other relevant disciplines from HEC recognized national or international university of high ranking. Degree Holders of World Class Universities and Candidates with highly cited research publications in national / international high-impact Journals will be given preference. Advanced education / Joint degrees in finance and law will be considered as an added advantage. • Experience: At least ten (10) years professional experience in the relevant field (including three (03) years of senior management level positions) particularly in the areas of policy formulation, strategic planning, conceiving / implementing development initiatives with specific focus on climate change. Experience at world-class organizations such as climate-related global organizations (United Nations, climate finance organizations, or other climate-related organizations), capital markets (investment banking, technical finance, carbon finance), climate law firms, climate-related start-ups. • Age: No Limit. • Quota: Open merit. |
Terms & Conditions:
Disqualification: No person shall be eligible for appointment as Chairperson who:
- Has been dismissed, removed, or compulsorily retired from service as a consequence of disciplinary proceedings;
- Has been convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction for an offence involving moral turpitude or corruption;
- Is a beneficiary of the National Reconciliation Ordinance, 2007 (LX of 2007).
